James Oyola was born in Hoboken, New Jersey and spent the majority of his upbringing in the Garden State, along with New York, Massachusetts, Virginia and Florida. A former high school football, basketball and track star, Oyola wrapped up his collegiate career at Florida Atlantic University where he was a member of the football team. In the spring of 2002, James was initiated as a member of the Omicron Gamma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. at Florida Atlantic University.
Following his college experience, James went on to pursue his career as a sports journalist and independently worked with media outlets such as CBS Interactive and the Miami Herald, along with a four-year term (2011-2015) working with the Miami HEAT of the National Basketball Association, as a freelance contributor. As a result of his experience, James founded Imago Dei Productions, LLC., a writing firm based in South Florida. For over 8 years, Imago Dei Productions has served as one of the top writing/public relations firms in the region. The words “Imago Dei” derive from Latin origin, meaning “In His Image” and are rooted in the Bible scripture Genesis 1:26 which points to “man being made in the image and likeness of God.” Imago Dei Productions represents a model of perfection and spirit of excellence in which the company serves its clients.
The company’s core services include: print and online media, public speaking, the facilitation of on-camera interviews, content development for websites, marketing, creative writing, ghost writing, copywriting, grant writing and more. Throughout his career, James has been able to share his faith and encourage business owners, professional athletes, celebrities, and much of South Florida’s youth. James is also a chaplain with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
At the age of 22, James decided to listen to the still voice in his heart that pointed him in God’s direction. James credits the birth of his son, Adrian, for the motivation to get out of his own way and seek out the purpose for which he was created. James is currently a member of Vertical Church, in Sunrise, Fla., and is finishing up his last year of Theological Institute at Tabernacle of Christian Faith Church, in Hollywood, Fla. Once completed, James will receive his credentials as a licensed minister.
Wesly Giordany, also known as Wes the Tech, is from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and has been creating, drawing and growing as a graphic designer ever since his childhood. Aside from his ability to bring art to life, Wes is also a member of the Christian Hip Hop rap group, The Brotherhood.
According to Wes, illustrating was his only way of escaping the reality of a tumultuous environment. In addition to his talents, Giordany also has a formal education in painting, sculpting and pottery. Like most artist’s, Wes has a natural vivid imagination. However, he attests that most of his inspiration is derived from the imagination of others.
“I really like to bring other people’s thoughts and visions to life,” said Giordany.
That is pretty much what he did for James and his book, “Get Out of Your Own Way.” Once James told Wes his vision, the young designer was able to make it a reality.
“The art work for my book is exactly how I envisioned it,” said James. “I’m truly grateful to have worked with Wes. He took the idea that God gave me and brought it to life. I love the cover of this book!”
